Formal letters

Upsssss!

Yesterday one of my students warned me that there hadn't been any posts in the blog for several weeks. Weird enough, I programmed several entries for the last couple of weeks. I've realised that I cannot make a living out of programming.... Anyway, I have some extra materials which are very interesting. Sorry again because my computer isn't getting along with screenshots right now. You'll have to click on the following links.

Keep posted for more!

Remember what we saw in class and keep in mind the change of format (in class we analysed a formal email, not a formal letter!)

Please, check this one. It shows a formal letter (you'll have to write an email) of application. Annnnnnd it is thoroughly corrected by Cambridge examiners!!!

Check this one if you need more tips or a compilation of useful phrases and sentences for your formal letter of application.

Opinion essay--> Writing prompts

The second term is almost over. And I said ALMOST, because there is still some work to do. And, in my case, there is still much tests/notebooks/essays to mark (sigh).

And, today I wanted to remind you that the due date for the opinion essay is this week.

And as promised, I've gathered some useful words when you have to write an opinion essay. Together with the transition/linking words, I've included some text samples. Click on the link to download the adapted version of the exercise (below you have the link to the original document, ;))

Coming soon---> Writing prompts

I'm working on the writing prompts I promised in class a few days ago.

Meanwhile, I've found some useful tips to write a wonderful FOR and AGAINST essay.

I hope you find them useful!

Have a look at them and keep posted! I'll be posting some new materials soon!

That is me before marking your essays. It is very challenging task. And boring (I must add).

Some of you found very helpful the writing prompts I showed last week in class. Hopefully, you won't go blank before your sheet of paper.

So if you want to have a look at them again, just click on the following link:
